If you’re looking for handgun ammunition you’ll find full metal jacket rounds for practice and hollow point rounds for service. If you’re looking for rifle ammunition you’ll find plenty of options for grain count, caliber, and bullet type. Anytime you’re not sure whether the ammunition you’re looking for will work well with your firearm, we’d encourage you to reach out and ask us. We’re more than happy to help you find exactly the right rounds for what you’re needing.
When you’re purchasing handgun ammo, the first thing you want to check is the caliber. Your gun is chambered to a specific caliber and you want to make sure you are matching that caliber when you purchase ammo for it. There are some calibers that will fire in guns chambered for other calibers that are very close in size, but unless you have researched your exact model of firearm and whether it will fire any calibers it’s not specifically chambered for, stick with the correct caliber.
When you’re purchasing rifle ammo, you’ll want to double check the caliber, and you’ll also want to consider grain count. Differences in grain count for rifle ammunition are much more impactful than for handgun ammunition, and can drastically affect the accuracy of your shooting; higher grain counts make the bullet travel faster, meaning it arcs more and doesn’t have as much time to drop. The recoil of the firearm will also get stronger as the grain count gets higher. If you’re not sure what grain count you should purchase, feel free to give us a call and we’ll give you our recommendations.
